We are excited to announce that Manhanga, Sojourner’s Marimba Band, is back for the 2026-2027 school year!! The voluntary, after-school Marimba Program for Intermediate (4th and 5th grade) students is a 25-year tradition at Sojourner, playing high energy music on African-style marimbas. Their songs are built on interlocking rhythmic patterns with melodies originating from Zimbabwe and other African countries.
If your Intermediate student would like to participate, please complete the following with your child:
- Review and submit the contract and permission form by Monday, October 5
- Submit your payment
Marimba is scheduled to begin the week of October 12th. Mrs. Sinell will let the kids know what day they practice by Friday, Oct 9th. Participation goes through June with a few public performances later in the season.
