We are very excited to announce the return of Marimba!
Families of Intermediate students — If you are interested in having your child participate in Marimba, it is not too late!!
The after school marimba program is a 20 year tradition at Sojourner Elementary School. We play high energy music on African style marimbas. Our songs are built on interlocking rhythmic patterns with melodies originating from Zimbabwe and other African countries. Every week, our students practice once after school and during one recess period. In the past, we have performed for school events and community events such as farmers markets and Milwaukie First Friday.
Please be sure to complete and return the forms with your child and bring to school no later than Oct 5th. Marimba is scheduled to begin the week of October 10th, 2022, and Ms. Sinell will let the kids know what day they practice by Friday Oct 7th.
